iPhone Rumors Heating Up

If you don't follow tech news, and especially if you don't own an iPhone, then you may not know that historically, since the first iPhone was released, April and May are iPhone-rumor months.

Well, it's early April and there have been a few rumors here and there going around since early March. The latest rumors come in the flavor of release dates. Apparently, some observers think that Apple isn't going to release new hardware at the usual June/July release date. They claim this because by April/May Apple would hold a preview conference to showcase new iOS features.

That wasn't the case this year. Apple decided to go ahead and announce WWDC without having an iOS preview (Apple said they want to talk about the future of iOS and OS-X at WWDC).

Well, that's all good and dandy if they want to go down that route. What I don't get is why would CNN care so much as to put it front-page on their mobile website, as if it was some important news to talk about!

I understand why some people might be interested in iPhone news. Heck, I'm probably the biggest iPhone-news junkie you'll ever know. But to have an article that basically says that 'the iPhone 5 may or may not come this year, but we don't know yet, but rumors are going crazy' is a bit of a stretch by CNN, in my opinion. Clearly there must be more important news out there than iPhone 5 rumors swirling around. Right, CNN? If not, then you're failing epically at journalism.
