Albert Einstein Favored Socialism?

The word socialism is thrown around these days as if it's one of the greatest threats to our society as we know it in the United States. So much so that some Americans don't even realize that the social system that we've been enjoying for many years is in fact a form of socialism. Many think that socialism is going to lead the US into Communism.

I disagree.

I'm writing about socialism today because part of my assignment for my US History class I'm taking is to look up the differences between socialism, Communism, and Marxism. As I was looking for articles online I came across an article written by Albert Einstein in 1949. He's most famous for his contributions to science, but I never knew that he'd provide insight of his thoughts about socio-economic and political issues like the way he did in this article.

Why Socialism?, he named the article, and I'm sharing it here hoping that you can read it and see how relevant this article is to us today, years after it being written.
